This was my first open mic / stand up performance. It took place in Sid's Lounge which is a part of Sidesplitters in Tampa. You can check me out at www.myspace.com/bknicholas Also, the date in the video is wrong it actually took place on 3/27/08. Enjoy!

  • Thanks dannyboy and the rest of you for the positive comments. Wow, hard to believe that was over a year ago, my how the time has flown! I have performed countless more times and even MC'd a bit. I am going to get some more recent vids up.

  • And, in response to "kingofthelaugh" - as much as I would like to remove your comments, I'm not going to. I really don't care what you think of my comedy, but I don't appreciate being accused of plagiarizing. I am not surprised that Jeff Foxworthy did that joke, at all. They say that great minds think alike, and therefore I am flattered. I have seen first hand that many people can come up with the same jokes without hearing them from others.

  • The night this video was taken was my first time, and I had never met nor heard any of the other comedians performing. However, I was last up, and had to cross several jokes off my list before performing because someone else told them (or extremely similar)!

  • Here are 3 jokes off the top of my head that I wrote only to find that someone else head, as well:

    1. I switched my cell phone to ATT because I support their philosphy of more bars in more places.

    2. Several having to do with old naked guys in the locker room at the gym. I have come to learn that this subject is pretty well beaten down and I have given up on it and never performed any of the jokes I wrote.

  • 3. I heard a girl tell a joke about farting in a midgets face by accident - mine was almost exactly the same but with a kid instead! :D

To me, I like it when I find out that I am using material that has been done. It challenges me to try harder and be more creative.

And, I have had people apologize to me for repeating a joke of mine to others. However, I find that no apology is needed, in fact, I regard people repeating my jokes as the highest compliment possible.

very good for your first time! well done!

  • pretty decent

  • That was good for a first time dude, I'm not sure how no-one clocked the opener though. I thought the roasting your sister was hilarious.

  • great jokes! very good at talking to and relating to the audience. Fits! good line!

  • Good first time. I'm gonna post my first open mic as soon as that happens. It's kind of hard to find a place that will let an 18 year old perform. At least in Navarre it is...

Oh and sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree with your great minds think alike comment. Jeff Foxworthy is just awful.
