One of our harness horses gets antsy with his brother. We never quite figured out what was bothering the brown bay, but he leans on and kicks at the black horse a couple of times, pinning his ears. We're pleasure driving along the seashore of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, on Richmond Island Harbor. Driving is on dirt roads, woods trails and across fields near the shore, mostly on private property. Our pair of young Arabian-Percheron brothers is put to an Eagle combo carriage, in an event sponsored by Maine Driving Club Oct. 10, 2009. Many more videos of horses and more on my Channel!

  • percheron/arab cross sounds interesting. i would love to see more frontal videos to see what they look like.

  • @617Tora check out my channel, video titled Training horses for the tandem driving hitch

some frontals at 1:40, 3:20, and 4:10. Also my blog has lots of pix.

  • @horsepaintings Nice Mix! I like the body structure... how is the temperment? IAre they more relaxed or do they tend to be a bit hotter? They look to be pretty level headed in some of your other videos.

  • @617Tora Extremely sensible and calm, both these guys have proved remarkably easy to train. Bear in mind we raised and trained them from birth for this. Their Polish Arab mom was quiet and level-headed with a wonderfully tractable disposition, AS was the sire. Bay is tad better built.

If you're thinking of breeding, also bear in mind you might end up with more like an Arab, OR heavier on the Percheron side. We got really lucky to get two the same size, roughly in the middle, and well matched.
