@BrettWeir007 Bridges are horrible for anyone to do. I use resistance bands and small swiss ball neck exercises that work well. My neck used to be bigger years ago but I was always in pain until I learned. Bridges kill all your discs. I still have pain until this day from all the bridges coaches made us do. I wish they told us all the pain we'd be in years later from those things.

@Hotmonkeylovin That was funny, but not very intelligent. I actually treat people with neck pain and neck issues, so I think that after years of studying anatomy/phys/biomechanics and years of clinical experience I have alot more expertise than you. The only reason that I got into this thread is because the guy said that he has never had a chiropractor or PT advise doing bridges. I said that the avg patient would not be given a bridge as a therapeutic exercise, its more for an athlete.

@icharuswing Right, obviously pushups have no relation to neck strength, that wasnt my point. My point was that the average person should not do bridges, why should they? The average person doesnt do isometric neck exercises, let alone something like a complicated exercise like a bridge. A fighter/wrestler is not the typical person, they can do bridges safely because they already have a good base of strength in the neck/traps, etc. Go slow and safe and you will be fine.
how does he work the very top of his head?

I am a chiropractor, and I do not recommend bridges for patients because that is WAY too hard for any of my patients, the avg joe cant do 20 pushups let alone bridge on their neck. You are also talking about working out for strength vs working out for recovery from an injury. Totally different animals. Most people do fine with simple neck stretches and isometric training. A wrestler or MMA fighter needs hardcore training that can include bridges if they know what they are doing.
