So took me forever to figure out where the PCV valve was.
Got it out and got a little tweak to make it easy to replace next 20,000 miles.

  • Dude, why did you take all that off just for the PCV? Jack it up... takes 20 minutes from underneath. hehe

  • @paralies couldn't get it from bottom side. The book i had said to but i couldn't get a good grip from that angle

  • @viper19861986 True, that is the same for my engine. When I went to get the new PCV valve they checked my cars VIN to see if it had a 3 or 5 engine code. Mine has a 3 code and this video helped a lot in changing and making future changes easier. On mine, the rubber elbow that attaches to it is 1/2 inch, the only replacement PCV valve that I could find fits a 3/8 inch hose. I got 1 foot of each and with a transition 1/2" to 3/8" reducer, made a loop as in the video. Thanks Viper19861986

  • @lthrart Glad my crappy video helped someone else out with their nice little car!

  • You did WAY too much work to replace it.

All you have to do is get under the car (pull the car up onto a couple of blocks of wood if you need to) and pull the elbow/hose loose. The PCV valve will slide right out. Took me about 3 minutes to replace mine. And, yes, it is the same for all 2.0 Zetecs.

  • @Tuminatuh I couldn't get it from the bottom side, it was stuck in there GOOD.... but yeah maybe other people can get theirs out. Mine was dry rotted tight... when it did come out, it BROKE out, the rubber in was shattered...

  • @viper19861986 Yeah, we do what we have to to get it done. :)

  • yo dude whats good? were do u leave cuz ima bring my ford focus to you and have it fixed by you. ill give you 250 to fix it please i need help

  • @viper19861986 Damn.... that sucks. You must live in an area that sees a lot of heat. My elbow had collapsed slightly, but I did manage to pull it off easily.

  • The PCV is supposed to be replaced every 60,000-not every 20,000 according to the owner's manual and service manual.
