@c0p13dn4m3 The Borg's history is convoluted more than any other aspect of Trek's history. If what you state is true, how is it that the Federation is aware that the Borg exist prior to the events of TNG's "Q, Who" as established in VOY's "The Raven". "First Contact" and ENT's "Regeneration" clarify it all.
@44971719785648751978 I don't know what exactly you are referring to, but that would make no sense, since it was stated that the borg had no knowledge of Earth until the first contact with the Enterprise.
One thing I hated about TNG is by this point they had the huge Starships maneuvering about like fighter planes. They completely lose their sense of scale and ignore all physics regarding space flight.
@Tigerman1138 Yeah, the designers (Okuda, Sternbach, etc) said they were flying fusion bombs. An earlier cut of the shot shows them coming in from several difference angles, "raining" down on the Borg cube. (I wish they'd kept that shot, it was better.)
I always found that cool, basically the last line of defense at Mars is a barrage of fusion bombs. I wonder how the Breen fared when they attacked Earth a decade later....
1:25 This war was meaningful only as a contrast to the benevolent and peaceful society of Humans. The future Star Trek depicted war as entertainment, a clearly weaker disposition and trivial.
@Section31Captain You might be right. I haven't watched Star Trek for years now, I don't remember these details.

So weird seeing the blue 'tractor beams' as opposed to the green ones. These also seem to be almost like phasers, totally melting that ship at 0:40.
