2008 Can-Am Spyder "Motorcycle" Review Test
Read the full motorcycle review at Motorcycle.com. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/2008-canam-spyder-test-61047.html

We are aware that the Can-Am Spyder isn't a motorcycle. But regardless of its non-single-track layout, it does have plenty of motorcycle guts and the thrill of the wind in your face, so we had to give it a ride. Or, instead, does one give the three-wheeled Spyder a drive?

  • I have road dirtbikes...snowmobiles...and 4 wheelers all my life, I'm 65 now

with Arthritis in my hands and legs...thought my life was done...drove one of these!

Feel a new life commin on !!! I don't care if anyone laughs at me...I love it !

  • These negative asshat "bikers", if like most, haven't ridden even 10k miles and should be ignored. I have bikes, cars and race quads, and like them all and I can see the appeal of this. I'd just rather see something made for performance that is lighter and with more power, and most of all four wheels. A TRX450R is 350#, I don't see any reason why a street version with a 180hp 1 liter bike engine would have to be over 450#s, assuming they ever make the push to legalize quads.

  • Well I'm 21 y/o and paralyzed from a motorcycle wreck. And I can honestly say I would drive the hell out of one of these. All you haters wouldn't be hate if you was in my position.

  • to much price

  • @1brentwood ride on man haha

  • @mtnlogistics It has nothing to do with being unskilled or scared to ride something on two wheels. Given the right (or wrong, however you may look at it) circumstances, anything that goes fast, regardless of number of wheels, can kill or seriously injure anyone. It has to do with appeal and looking outside the box for new designs. Everyone has opinions, some people like it and some people don't. I for one like it, not because I think it's safer or easier to ride, but because it looks sweet.

  • @1brentwood Why would people laugh at this?

  • This thing is so cool! Kind of like a cheap convertible.

    BTW I ride a ZX-6

  • I just don't get it. This thing seems like it was made for people who want a bike but are too afraid or unskilled enough to get one.

  • @opmike343 I rode one and i wasn't comfortable. Sorry. lol

  • @smoothaIIoy

Look, this isn't a 3-wheel ATV from 1983. The lead wheels are doubled, not the rear wheels. You'll only encounter significant handling issues if you decide to drive the thing around the roads in reverse. You shouldn't make broad, sweeping comments about something you're ignorant about. I don't even like these silly things, but the BS surrounding them has gotten ridiculous.

  • I don't care what braking safety features this trike comes with, three wheels = dangerous.
