The Ronettes - Be my Baby 1963

Perhaps the best remembered of the "girl group" of the early '60s, The Ronettes achieved their biggest success under producer Phil Spector. In towering black beehive hairdos and dark eye makeup, the Ronettes were a classic mid-sixties girl group with a sultry twist; vulnerable but tough, sexy but. sweet. The first single in July 1963 was a classic, the "Be My Baby." Ronnie's distinctive, seductive vocal delivery, along with her now legendary "woh-oh-oh-oh," drove teenage boys wild. By October, 1963 it was at number two and became an international hit as it reached number four on the English Charts.

Hi reprax thanks for posting the Ronettes. the sound Quality is real good too! I met Ronnie at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach Ca after one of her shows, she was very nice we talked backstage while she ate a cheeseburger, I had a large pix of the Ronettes and she signed it for me. A real class act and tiny too.

@cosmicrayz1 Actually Ronnie, she is is half Cherokee/African decent as is her sister Estelle, and also her cousin Nedra... The Ronettes were all close and born/raised in NYC, USA.

@promerops Yes, I will go as soon as I can make plans. I would likely go to a concert somewhere in or close to New York City. Pittsburg is closer but, I wish to attend a concert in N. Y. City because I wanted to make a stop at Trinity Church Cemetery in order to place flowers, from myself and a couple of fans, upon the grave of Estelle Bennett.
