  • Final times and assumptions for three year olds at a mile and mile and a half? Then according to your assumptions based on final times, there is Easy Goer at a mile with no 3 yr old ever faster, and then there is Secretariat #1 and Easy Goer #2 at a mile and a half as three year olds. Those are the assumptions you will have to make based on final times and assumptions.

  • I certainly will take that great Hall of Fame horses being "out of gas", and still running faster than Slew,Bid,Affirmed,Alydar,Damascus,Native Dancer,Nashua,Bold Ruler,Citation,Whirlaway,Bet Twice-Alysheba,Free House-Silver Charm,Majestic Prince-Arts*L,etc etc and still running faster than all of them and at the same time being "out of gas".

  • @sneak108 i mispoke here. i meant to say the greatest rivalry in horse racing history. lol wow that would be huge. theres some big rivalries all time lol

  • I think these two had the greatest rivalry in sports history. it all came to a head here.

  • @PatsGiantsSteelerfan I agree totally. Day's repeated start and stop, start and stop, start and stop, start and stop riding cost Easy Goer by a nostril in the Preakness and by a desperate neck in the Classic vs. the only horse who could take advantage of these repeated start and stop, start and stop riding, by a nostril and desperate neck.

  • @EASYGOER4LIFE They don't call him Pat "wait all" Day for nothing. I don't think he and Easy Goer (RIP) were a very good fit either, IMO

  • But anyway, like the Bloodhorse Top 100 book states, "Easy Goer, the Hall of Fame champion, who ran the fastest 3 yr old mile of all time in 1:32 a&chg, the second fastest Belmont of all time, many of the most historic races on or near track records won by many other Hall of Fame horses, will always be mentioned in the same breath with the greatest of all time", despite the awful start and stop, start and stop Pat Day riding, which cost him by a nostril&desperate neck in two outs in Fla &Maryland.

  • Day's awful start and stop, start and stop, start and stop kid gloves and baby hands riding is what cost Easy Goer nostril & desperate neck losses in Fla & Maryland, and he did win out of New York anyways, one of his fastest races also.

  • As much as time? So you must also think that Easy Goer is the fastest three yr old miler of all time, and the #2 all time 3 yr old at 12f with Secretariat #1, and that General Assembly,Honest Pleasure &Easy Goer were the fastest 10f horses ever at Sar,& Tri Jet and Easy Goer were the fastest 9f horses at Sar,and Alysheba,Silver Buck&Easy Goer were the fastest 10f horses at Bel,and Easy Goer,Slew&Devil's Bag were the fastest two yr olds of all time.
