Video from a Sumo competition within the course in mobile robotics during spring 2009, MMT200, at Faculty of Engineering, Lund University, Sweden. Mechanical platform: LEGO NXT. Software platform: LeJOS java virtual machine, version 0.7. Basic rules: push the opponent out in the white area, try to go into the blue area. Threads was used for each sensors, and monitor to pass sensor data to the actuator thread. The control is based on state diagram which include the strategy of the robots. This video shows the tournament between 4 teams. All perfomed excellent but we finally got a winner. Every game was "best of five". Great thanks to all students for a tremendous effort.
