  • Thanks for posting this too. I have a child who has the Duke Ellington story in one of his school books. We looked it up so my son could hear what Duke's music sounded like.

  • Ben Webster on The Blues seems to be a peak of his musical life. Very spiritual. But, I love Al Sears' solo on the same tune, too.

  • wonderful.

The Dukes' first very important suite.

May be that such special music will be heared only every 30 years.

    Never to be forgotten...

It took part of us and our lives.

thank you very much for posting this diamond.

  • Thanks for posting this. I have the record at homw but have not played it in about 30 years. I am on the road now but when I return I will play it, listen to it and enjoy the genius Ellington was.

  • Thanks for posting this.

I'm going to make a point of uploading the entire premier performance of BBB, as it is a treasure and, sadly, rarely heard in its original form.

    Stay tuned...
