I must disagree. I watch local Hot Rod racing and crappy Banger racing. none of them drivers have any personalities or any character, just fat, veteran, old mid-life-crisis bastards.
But saying that, I kinda know what you mean. I even watch F1 when it's shit! And why? Well, despite the fact it gives me an excuse to sleep on the sofa instead of eating Sunday luch with the grandparents, it is somewhat exciting

I dont really understand why there is a sprint race and a featured race? Thats kind of confusing, considering i grew up watching f1 really.. But it IS exciting. ( which i love )

reason why motor racing is fun or you are more passionatly involed is becuase you know the drivers and characters in the sport ...like f1 !! a1gp has none and is therefore never going to be as popular as f1 ..f1 might be broing at times but for real fans even boring races are meaningful bcoz of the drivers

A1 cars might not be as good but the racing is more exciting. More parity and more passing instead of a parade with the same guy leading the whole race.
