Mermaid at MegaCon 2009

This is just a batch of some clips my bf took of me interacting with some attendees at MegaCon this year. This was taken late Sunday morning.

The little girl dressed as Super Girl was particularly adorable =3 She looked like she was bursting at the seams with excitement and as she walked away, she exclaimed, "I watch her on TV!" XD I love kiddies!

Hi! Acordding to "angelicaababyyy's" comment, wht exactly is the solid triangle shaped item? Also, how do you tie it? This would be soo muchh help. Thank you sooo much!

@polymerclayfreak Now that I think about it, I didn't even have that piece in there when I wore it for this video. They all flipped up at once because they were attached to each other and my feet pushed it up. However, now I use a very jerry-rigged system of a wire hanger or two bent into a triangle shape with tulle sewn onto the whole thing. I threaded a ribbon through the tulle and tie it to my ankles. But I think cardboard would work better...my system is falling apart, lol.

@angelicaababyyy Hi there! My fins all go up at once because I have a solid, triangle-shaped object tied to my ankles. When I kick up, all the fins go with it. And the fins are attached to each other, not free-flowing. The fabric for the flippers was just stuff that was on the sale rack in Jo-Anns...several different satins, silks, lames and spandexes.

hi there. i love your mermaid outfet. it has inspired me to make my own version & have it be swimmable & non swimmable. the top will look simular to the one your wearing & the park one but mine will be a real shell top that i can buy online but painted purple like ariels. the tail will proberly be made out of neoprene with realistic scales & rays(lines). also im wondering wear can i find the flower(hairclip)? i would like to get or make that to. please tell me what you think of my idea. thanks.

I think your idea will work wonderfully. I bought my hairclips (I have several) in Hawaii, but I'm sure you can find them anywhere! If you don't like the styles you find, you can always buy a plain, flat hairclip and buy faux flowers that you like and glue the flower(s) to the hairclip. Good luck!
