Officially known as the Dirty Dozen for its 13 severe climbs ranging 18-37% over 50+ miles, it might be more accurately called The Hell of the Hills. Why is it so hellish? For its multiple 6-8 minute anaerobic efforts at cadences below 50rpm, in usually frigid, often windy, and sometimes wet conditions.

  • "I couldn't imagine living in Chicago or some other city where it's flat and boring and it's a grid pattern and every road's the same."

Spot on. Chicago's great, but damn is it terrible for cycling.

  • Awesome video! Awesome Race!
