At this rate, it'd almost be easier to just use YouTube's AudioSwitch tracks in the first place. *sigh* Sorry yet again about the audio switch guys, but the original got disabled.

Upon arriving in the town of Fount Royal to assist his master, Isaac Woodward in judging an accused witch, Matthew is surprised to find that nothing is as he expected. Although everyone around him is convinced of the "witch's" guilt, Matthew is determined to find the true culprit behind the murders she is accused of before an innocent woman burns.

Matthew Corbett . . . Gary Oldman
Rachel Howarth . . . Demi Moore

I'm not entirely satisfied with the actors I used- Gary Oldman's too old for Matthew- but the movie I took the clips from was pretty much the only one available.

Clips from The Scarlet Letter (1995). Music is Within Temptation's "Our Solemn Hour" No copyright infringement is intended; all media used in this video belongs to its respective copyright holder.

  • Really nice work, I'm a die hard McCammon fan. I read Speaks the Nightbird last year, great story, and I think you caught the spirit of it, my compliments.

(I feel your pain concerning having videos pulled, ouch.)

  • Thanks! I actually stumbled across the book completely by accident- I wandered across it in the bookstore, and was so excited by the prospect of a witch trial book that I bought it right away. I'm glad to hear I was able to do it justice (though Gary Oldman is a lot more . . . beardy . . . than I imagined Matthew.)

Yeah, the copyright crusade's been hitting everyone pretty hard. On the bright side, the I've still got the original audio in place on Imeem.

  • McCammon's my fave author and his latest books are outstanding. Great job on getting the essence of the characters and story here, very cool!

  • just finished the book last night. i luv matthew's intimate encounters with rachel.

and that part where he thought they were in hell.. "You too?" LOL!!

its also heart wrenching that they both realize they couldn't be together. French speaking Indians, the most evil actors = possibly the best book ive ever read. hehe

matthew then goes on to injure a rapier wielding opponent in the sequel ;) havent read mister slaughter
