House GOP Puts Off Vote on 'Plan B'

House Republicans dropped a vote on Fiscal Cliff Plan B, because they didn't have the votes to pass it. Automatic tax hikes and spending cuts are set to go into effect on January 1st, without an agreement between the President and Congress. (Dec. 21)

The bottom line: Americans voted for more of the same. They want things exactly as it is.

Never mentioned a "study" just the fact that 1/2 a million more votes were cast for democrats in the house than republicans (that's votes cast, so whatever point you were trying to make about the "Indy vote" is irrelevant).

Boner tried to blame the democrats for not backing his plan B when the truth is he couldn't get his own tea baggers to pass the bill in his house. But I'm through criticizing Boner. I'm afraid he'll start crying again!

Changing the subject is a form of deflection, it is what Fox news fans do constantly whenever the discussion gets away from them. Personally I would favor a single payer system much like Canada. I would also favor cost controls. None of that will happen because the corporations control our government and Obama is a secret conservative republican. (Force pay for healthcare is a republican plan, if you will recall). Anyway I hope we go off the cliff. Then we can blame the republicans.

Hallelujah we just made progress "What killed me were all the State and Local fees" What do you think Obamacare is? It is a per employee fee. I know health care needs reform, I do. I like the getting rid of pre existing condition...Fantastic idea. I don't like the government forcing all people not just business to buy any product. Sets very bad precedent. Sounds like you get your business information from Fox News. As it happens I owned a small business some years ago. At that time the income tax rate was much higher than it is pretended to be now. In any event, the Federal tax was not much of a problem for me. What killed me were all the State and Local fees. These are paid by small business people REGARDLESS of profits made. I suspect this situation is even worse today because so much of the tax burden has been down shifted away from the rich.

A business owner pays the costs associated with doing business, then tax. The remainder is profit. THEN they can reinvest (as many do) from said profit (after paying themselves) to grow the company,
