Robyn Hitchcock Performs "Museum of Sex": Live in Chicago—[3/5/10 @ Schuba's]

Hitchcock is currently promoting his forthcoming Robyn Hitchcock & The VENUS 3 CD, "Propellor Time" (Release Date: March 22, 2010).

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Following the Chicago Intl. Movies & Music film fest screening of "I Often Dream of Trains in New York" and Q&A with director John Edginton, Hitchcock returned to the intimate stage at Schuba's later that evening for sold out, one-man concert armed only with acoustic guitar, harmonica, soaring voice, and biting, spontaneous wit.

Following a 90-minute set of Hitchcock songs old and new, Robyn delivered an encore featuring his take on signature songs by the Doors, Bob Dylan, and enigmatic Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett.

ABOUT THE CD:
The Venus 3, Hitchcocks backing band for "Propellor Time" (2010), once again features indie rock notables Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows) on bass and Bill Rieflin on drums (formerly of Ministry and Revolting Cocks), and making a rare appearance as a sideman, R.E.M.s Peter Buck (on 12-string and acoustic guitars).
