Our beloved boomers find themselves reaching milestones...as opposed to kidney stones. Quitting is hard for our boomers...just like Presidenting is hard for Bush!

  • You guys are darling! My husband and I are on day 12 of Chantix and our quit day is another week away. I am down to three a day from 20 and Bob is down to 7 or 8 from 30 a day. The urge is really just about gone for me but the stories about Chantix are scaring me!! Thanks for the encouragement and congrats on being non smokers..

  • We're thrilled at your success. Don't worry about the stories you've heard. If at this point you're not nauseous, vomiting or more gaseous than the mutari nebula...then you're not overdosing and you'll do just fine.

    Best to you,

    Meg & Brent

  • Hey Meg & Brent. Congratulation. How was the Chantix withdrawal for you? Any problems? How long did you take the pills? 19 days for me, but who's counting?

  • Hi Micki,

We took the pills for a week while smoking and then stopped smoking. After 85 days we stopped taking the Chantix, as per the perscription, and about a week later our taste-buds started to come back. That took a couple of weeks before garlic tasted like garlic again...yum!

Our hearts and our thoughts are with you. Anything we can do to help you get there is why we keep posting. We're running a little late so look for our posting next week.

    Best to you,

    Meg & Brent

  • Glad to know you both are doing so well! :)

Let's see.. I'm day 22 on Chantix and day 3 without smokes. It's rough but hanging in there :) Glad you are too!

  • Hi LunaGer,

We're thrilled for you. After 3 days all that nasty nicotene leaves your body and the urges are more psychological than physical...but they're still very real. Stay with it because quitting is like a savings account...the damn time is gonna pass anyway, so you might just as well...Best to you,

    Meg&Brent
