You can also adjust the size of the loop by pulling the line ends instead of using the loop to tighten the knot. A great tool for tying these loops is a crochet hook. Form your standing loop, hang the crochet hook from the spinning loop, spin and use the hook to pull the standing loop through the wraps. Presto!

dannboli, It's usually better to tie at least a small leader to the loop and tie your fly or hook to that.
