During the filming of "Valkyrie", the
producers encountered resistance from
the German government about filming
in certain locations because of concerns
about how Hollywood would treat such
an important story. Turns out they
did a great job!

  • I stood at that very spot where they were shot yesterday and it feels strange being there.

Not only because this masterpiece was shot there and many famous actors stood in the same spot, but because it is where it all happened: "Terrorists" tried to take over power and got executed there.

But they were patriots - Nazis or not, in contrast to the German government at the time they tried to save millions of lives and to that I salute: Real German heroes who shall never be forgotten!

  • @VitaminsAndPiss I realize that Hollywood does spout out a bunch of bullshit, but for GOD'S SAKE! Your average American sees absolutely no difference between Nazis and Germans, this showed them otherwise. And besides, those individuals that gave their lives for the people of Germany deserve remembrance for their actions.

  • a wonderful film

  • I've been there :D - Great film!

  • "I have so many Germans that thank me for doing this....THey say thank you Hollywood for bringing your stupid propaganda here".

  • There is a german movie from 2004 that is called Stauffenberg that you should check out if you like history.

  • I can't believe they were actually allowed to shoot there...it certainly adds a lot of weight and emotion to a very important scene in the movie.
