Where did you get yours because i looked it up and it was $56.55?

@robynstamps The difference is the tape, not the ATG guns. The white tape is acid free & the brown isn't & is harder to get off the roll. I have 2 of the ATG guns & use both tapes for different projects.

The difference is the tape, not the dispenser. The brown tape isn't acid free & alot cheaper than the white rolls of tape. I have 2 of the ATG's & use both tapes for different projects. The white rolls roll off alot smoother.

I have had my ATG gun for about 2 years and I love it ,it is the red one brought from the framing company on line. I have never had any problem with it it glide very smoothly. I to am wondering why such price difference?

Just got mine @ Michael's. MSRP is $39.99 with 72 yrds of tape., orignal 72 yrds of tape is $10.00 I used a 50% off tape. Got a new ATG gun with tape for $20, and another 72 yrds for $5. not bad.

Thanks for the review! I was lost, but now I'm found :) I'm going to buy one right now!

@ginacraftycrafter - Yes! My tape doesn't seem to want to stay on the fron rubber roller. This is my first ATG, so when I tried to push it back on, the paper backing ripped, and when I tried to restart it on the winder at the back, it got all doubled over and crumpled. I guess the problem is I didn't have enough patience with the mechanics, but the ATG's in a drawer, and I'm back to using liquid adhesives . . . ;o(

I absolutely love my new ATG gun! Once you get the hang of it the size of it doesn't intimidate you. Now I just have to find out where I can buy cheap refills! Anyone know?
The difference is that they have made the parts with a lighter weight plastic. That is why your older gun feels heavier because it is made from heavier duty parts, and why the lady didn't give you a straight answer. The framing industry uses these guns day in day out. Scotch figures that scrapbookers don't need such a heavy duty gun as they don't think they put them through as much use.
I say they're wrong. But time will tell if I am right or not.
