I truly feel that Don was the best fit for Marnie. They portrayed a "real" relationship to me. While with Don, Marnie seemed more passionate, and fiesty. I prefer this Marlena. The Marlena of today is so watered down to me. I still love her, but I much rather have the Marlena of this day back.

@mtmoore31 I actually liked Marlena best with Roman. I thought she didn't fight Don enough in the early part of their relationship. She let him "be the man" so to speak, which is basically what women did still in the 70's. By the 80's though, they changed Marlena to make her more independent and to fight more for her personality. I think she was Roman's equal in the 80's, but while she was with Don, I didn't feel that. However, I do love me some D&M :)

@DemonBitch2007 She never had a son named Donny? She had DJ with Don, her first husband, but he died from SIDS. She adopted a little boy named Johnny, but his birth mother showed up, and Marlena let him go back home with his real mother. Then she had the twins. Where did you get Donny?

I so agree with (jstice).....I NEVER wanted Roman and Marlena together. I ALWAYS wanted Don to be with her. They were so passionate! I know some people seeing this only see Don as a jerk.......but they haven't see the rest of who Don was....he and Marlena were so in love and NO ONE will ever kiss her the way he did! They're scenes together were electrifying! And I was SICK when the writers separated them for good. I always thought Marlena was out of her mind when she gave up Don!

@Athenatious Well I can see why she didn't go back with Don. He cheated on her and then lied about it. Uhm..She couldn't trust him after that. Once Roman came into the picture, she realized that she could be good friends with Don, but that trust would never be there for her to be intimate with Don, so she chose Roman.

It's interesting to watch all of these old scenes once again. I remember how much I loved Don and Marlena together. I rooted for them all the way. I always wanted them back together even when Roman came into the picture. I thought she had better chemistry with Don. But when she became involved with John Black, I realized what real chemistry was all about. Every other relationship she had paled in comparison.
