Citizens Challenge Giles County, Va. officials to halt a planned Coal Combustion Waste Dump on the flood plain of the new River. The Chairman just happens to own the land where the CCW is to be dumped, and is also City Manager of Glen Lyn, the town where the waste is generated by AEP. It is estimated his group will make more than a million dollars profit in dump fees, yet claims he will make nothing, and will sell the land to avoid liability when the flood washes it into the river and ground water.
This is typical of how things are done in Giles County. They all know that the factory and agencies mentioned know about Giles County's record number of Cancer Deaths due to toxins in our air and water supply. For years they have been covering it up and now they propose to draw water from this river to process for drinking.
