Does Israel have a right to exist?

This video looks at the issue of Israel's right to exist as a free, independent and sovereign nation. It includes commentary from Helen Thomas along with my (very bad) impersonation of her. It also includes a brief overview of the nation of Israel with historical facts relevant to the present-day ongoing conflicts.

Please leave your comments and thoughts on the question, whatever they may be, but please provide reasons supporting your position. "I don't think Israel should exist because I hate Jews" isn't a good answer.

The land belongs to the Hebrew people, not anyone else. I think this is true because it was given to them by God, and only later were they displaced or conquered or both. They still are the rightful people to live there because they never voluntarily gave up the land. I think it was a right move in the time frame around WWII to move the Jews back to a land which was theirs historically and predating other nations. I'm also for the ejection of non-English Muslims from Britain to preserve UK.

@MusclesBoyToy, Your sentiments are growing throughout British society, and throughout Europe and beyond for that matter. The anti-islamization voices are beginning to crescendo in traditionally open and tolerant societies. Question for you: would the exiling of peaceful Muslims from Western countries not intensify the hatred so many Muslims have for the West, and make matters worse? I'm not disagreeing with your POV, but do wonder about the consequences of such an action. thx ---MID

What also increases the problem is that american Jews are settlers in the west bank, but not to join the arab communities, but to create a separat society that despises the locals!

On the other hand you have the islam religion, where they say that the jews are monkeys and must be eradicated from the surface of the world.

There is no solution to this problem until the next major world conflict which is about to appear: the fight for the ressources that are left.

@shinokiba israel is in middle east where the natives are the arabs , not europeans or asians or latins belong there. 3 religions came down there talmud, bible and qur'an so we lived together from generations with peace until the europeans came and started to divide and cause tension

A nation is not a real thing. It is a social construct that exists only in the mind of man.

It is one thing to say God gave the land to the Jews; we're not talking about land. We're talking about a government. A government only has the authorities conceded to it by the governed.

When Jews declared independence in 1948 to form their own nation, did the Arabs living in that land have a say in it? Did they concede to new government authority? Or was their right to do so usurped?

@MusclesBoyToy I don't think 'God' would favor the racial favoritism you put on the table. A friend of mine from the inside (who visited jerusalem for awhile) told me he couldn't believe the anti-palestinian propaganda on TV there. They make them look like sub-human scum! How is this any different than what the Nazis portrayed? What about all the children and great minds brought up into this "holy land"? You are overlapping nationalism and religion with human rights!
