Thereminist and synthesizer performer Shueh-li Ong http://Shuehli.com of internationally renown electronic group http://Xenovibes.com fields questions presented during her solo house concert gig in Hermosa Beach CA.
In this video, she briefly walks us through her setup which makes use of the host's home entertainment system (HES). Shueh-li's decision to use the HES was made after much analysis of the room acoustics along with equipment availability. She also wanted to respect the personality of the host by rearranging the aesthetics of the home as little as possible.
She is exposed to the lower frequencies standing where she has chosen to perform, unlike what the camera has picked up on video. Read it http://sonicfreakz.com/?p=1418
Equipment used include the Moog Etherwave theremin, Axiom 49 midi controller, Apogee Electronic's ONE, Logic Pro 8. Shueh-li is also a tin-whistle player which she attributes to her Australian heritage.
Piece played is 'I Verity' from 'Shueh-li's Xenovibes' the CD. Track can be heard at http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/song_details/4487126?play_now=true
Arrangement by Xenovibes of "Ashokan Farewell", written by Jay Ungar in 1982, is playing in the background during the intro of this clip.

A while back I had quite by accident run across the song recalcitrance. I liked the flow. I was reminded of buzzing down I35 to Dallas for a weekend trip to Six Flags. I had that freebie for some time, till that computer went to bit heaven anyway. I had been searching this evening piling up bing points looking for "Recalcitrance". I am very glad I found a lead back to the source.
Thanks for the entertainment Shueh-Li. Greatly appreciated.
