Ryan Johnson injury - He goes hard into the boards and hits the boards at a high speed as he caught an edge trying to move past Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom.
"VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Vancouver Canucks center Ryan Johnson was carried off the ice on a stretcher after sliding headfirst into the end boards early in the second period of Tuesday night's game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Johnson was taken to a nearby hospital for further observation, though a team spokesperson said he was alert and had full movement.
Johnson was skating full speed through the neutral zone before chipping the puck into the Detroit end, and appeared to lose his balance as he tried to step around defenseman Niklas Lidstrom, falling heavily and awkwardly into the end boards.
Red Wings forward Kirk Maltby arrived first and immediately waived for medical help from the Canucks bench as Johnson lay on the ice. Johnson, a fourth-line center and penalty-killing specialist, tried to raise his head and moved his left arm before both the Canucks' trainer and doctor arrived. He was placed on a spinal board and lifted onto a stretcher before being taken off the ice."

it was kinda funny to listen waht the coach said on canucks(dot)com.... the qustion was, "how is ryan johnson" "if it were up to him, he's be out on the ice tomorrow for the morning skate"
johnson is one of our main players, and a very great skater, i'm glad he's not out for a while... like Damitra... who is getting MORE surgery on his shoulder... and may not even play this year...=S
Maltby called for the trainer right away and May was the 1 who dropped his gloves and stick to try to help out. I seen Datsyuk make sure another player was ok after he was hit in the back of the head with the puck.
