This dance seemed to be overdone. Trying to make the dance more dramatic is pointless. Flamenco isn't all about drama, its about PASSION. And Danigirlfrombrazil is right. The man seemed to be following the woman's lead, a connection between a couple isn't an attempt (being that she wasn't looking back most of the time) at eye contact in a dance. If you have two truely good dancers you can see the connection in their moves.

You don't dance Bulerias with a Fan!!!

Wow, I think that´s amazing...ok you are right you don´t dance Bulerías with fans and I also think you are right in the fact that they are lacking interaction...but I mean they are making so much steps and that, so quick, someone that dances flamenco him- or herself knows how difficult it is to memorize all the steps in the right order and than doing it quickly, making it impassionated, looking by the way graceful and keeping your composure all the time. I think they did a really great job!

Thank you for your positive comments. These two dancers were ballet dancers (they had just turned 18 at the time) doing Flamenco on the side, just part-timers. Now both of them are in Madrid doing Flamenco full-time.

Yes, you are right. The choreographer added a fan to the routine to up the visual appeal because the film maker, Steve Rice, wanted a piece that was more 'dramatic' to showcase the new type of camera on the market at the time.
