Dick, I was there. Since the day I heard you sing it, i blessed it. Thank you for honoring us. I died there. Thank you, after all these years, with so much feeling, honoring us, and the suffering that followed. It is both magnificant, and a miracle, and beyond any description. There is a god. Thank you for honoring our suffering, and the suffering of those of us who laid dying....crying...for those we loved. My the Scottish people know they are loved by those of us who gave our lives.

Heard him on the Boys of the Lough 1st album. I'm sorry I didn't follow him these many years since. I've got a lot of catching up to do. This isn't my favorite version of the melody of this song, but the totality of the performance is untouchable. I'll be listening to this the rest of my life. When the pipes play this there are 2 particular elements of the original song they can't do; one is a tone thing, the other is 1 note -- which he quotes once in the song. This man knows.
