  • I *love* this performance, better than many (deservedly) renown ones. She is very faithful to the score (albeit at 0:54 she sings the "ta" Quarter Note in "e il mondo tace" as a D instead of the original C - her only fancy I noticed): pitch, force, tempo, slurs, are exactly as written (no personal cadenzas); all this at once is rare, above all when with such a beautiful voice and sensible expression.

  • The orchestra's rhythmic articulation is correct here, something not often encountered; thank you, Maestro Gardiner! The singing here is lovely beyond words; I love this artist. You should sample her impeccable Melisande on YouTube if you love that opera as much as I.

  • Compare to another similar aria writen by JOSEPH MARTIN KRAUS (1756-1792):

    Concert aria - " Innocente donzelletta "

  • She IS the best Susanna. The color and sweetness of the voice are unique, and every emotion is clearly conveyed by it. Lovely actress, too.

  • Thanks for this lovely share Emil !!!
