"Here's one of those delightful fragments by Gertrude Smodden ... and the wonderful part of it is there's no punctuation."

  • very funny movie,,,ahead of time...

  • This was the first Fields movie I ever saw. I was always touched by the relationship between father and daughter (Mary Brian). He is a man tormented on all sides, yet retains his dignity. A classic!

  • I have never seen this one it's great! Thanks for the post!

  • He was the PERFECT performer.

  • My bad.w.c; daughter.Sorry

  • and just because poor claude cannot find work. i guess Obama was president then to!.love Mary Brian as W.c."s wife . lived to be 93 i believe.

  • I love how in most of his movies, he's always ridiculed, ignored, and picked on by his own family. . . and the way he deals with all their crap, with kindness, forgiveness and most of all patience. . . gotta love such a personage. :o)

  • He's the most trying man ever put on this earth!

  • Don't you just want to clock Grady Sutton in the nose in this movie? And that annoying mother of his, reminds me of how much I disliked my late aunt.

  • Yes Dear. Ha Ha.
