It's just that they have a minimalistic approach reminiscent of the Velvet Underground.
And I wouldn't say they're overrated, just a tad hyped among those who enjoy droning noise psych rock.

Yeah,their riffs might be repetitive-but they are heavy,deep and hypnotic.The keyboarding is subtle and moody,and Ripleys guitar skills are beyond innovative. I'd like to see them play on the same bill as Monster Magnet: That'd be a friggin blast !
