How to make the Sea Urchin Star, designed by Martin Sejer Andersen
Presented here by Jo Nakashima with permission of the creator

Also designed by Paolo Bascetta
(Martin and Paolo designed the same star independently)

Difficulty level: simple

It's a very nice star for your Christmas decoration!

My paper:
Origami paper 7.5cm x 3.75cm (30 units)

  • what does it mean when it says 2:1

  • @origamiangeltime It's the proportion of the rectangle. Half of a square

  • Hi, I did the first grouping of 3 units together to make the first point. But I'm having trouble understanding how to make a group of 5. Please help. Thank you.

  • @creativebeam1 After making the first point, you'll have 3 unused flaps. Chose one and connect two more units to it, making a new point. Continue making new points this way, but you'll notice that eventually you'll have to connect the unused flaps of two existing points. That will happen when you have 4 adjacent points, then you'll join two unused flaps + new unit to make the 5th adjacent point

  • I have a request!

Can you make some kind of christmas origami for us? Or if you already have one up its fine. But i really want to get my best friend something homemade for christmas. And i was hoping for a origami gift.

  • @AshleyAndElisaFanTv go to my channel, there is a playlist with origami for Christmas on the right side
