can be a grill or a plate.. But as the light/cooking energy comes from below and we need something to catch all the juices other wise the mess would cover the reflective surface which would no longer reflect... the roasting container is actually sitting on a grill.

dun mean to be a wet blanket but to cook using one of these solar gadgets, one has to be out in the hot sun too. Not many pple's cup of tea in the tropics
