@KFactor93 Well, if venus want to defeat clijsters, the way you´ve mentioned. she should be really consistent and have a perfect game during a whole match, a thing that venus has been not able to show except in wimbledon...

@daniolitheone She doesn't have to be perfect, she was far from perfect in this match, but she was the aggressor, and so far this, playing defensively against Clijsters has not worked. In her US Open Semi this year against Clijsters she was playing much more aggresively than she has done so far this year, however, mentally crumbled in the tie break. She really had chances to take the match in 2. So Yes, I think Venus playing aggressively would help her defeat Kim.

@marfel2011 LOL you arent seriously suggesting Clijsters is the same player in 2001 as 2010. And Venus is alot older, older in athletic sports does not equal better.

@daniolitheone So by your logic, because a player is behind in a set, it is impossible for them to come back and win? I guess Venus should've just given the second set up after she lost the first game. Venus could've won in straight sets had she taken the second set tie breaker, which she had ample opportunity to do so. She took the mini break, but then mentally collapsed, serving two double faults in a row to hand Clijsters the lead. Clijsters wasn't making errors, she pushed, and Venus choked

@KFactor93 well tell me, venus won 6-4 the first set, how could she have won it in two? kim was pretty soon 3-0 and 5-2 in the second, when kim serving 5-6, venus did not have any break point, at the tie break,clijsters took huge distance from her. and in the third it was clijsters the one making errors all around. kim should have won it 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

@321suckadick kim clijsters is not the same player she was in 2001, she´s pretty much better.cause she hits harder, is even more an athlete, is mentally tougher, and has much more experience, venus keeps playing trying to overpower her rivals, it may work with others players but not with kim, above all, cause she knows venus´weak points.

Well things have changed now, Kim is a better player now..moves better than Venus now, has a better backhand than Venus...hits much harder than what she is doing here.. and is just more consistent. For Venus to beat Kim, she has to play like the first set of their semi and hope Kim's game is a bit off.
