Just perfect touch and lead on every pass. Can't teach that stuff. He was up over 7 APG in '90 with a team that wasn't exactly star-studded.

@MerkinMuffly Despite those back problems, he played 75 games in 1990, and played 40 minutes a game. Knicks fresh legs gave them the advantage in that series. McHale 1980, Bird 1979, Parish and DJ 1976... that's some mileage. Don't forget Jimmy Rodgers wasn't exactly KC Jones. They still made the semi-finals the next 2 years to.

wrong year dude: the back issues didn't crop up until the next season.
and his back was never broken.. he had badly herniated disks.

i was pissed when they lost that game....

That's alright, he kicked their asses in 84 when he was healthy, and went on to win the finals, the 90 knicks, not so much...
Not such a bad series for Bird considering he was playing with a broken back.

Nothing as sweet as watching Bird pass the ball. So creative and could see the entire floor and the other 9 players. Those length of the court passes and his accuracy still blow my mind. Could also change from shot to pass at the last second and hit his teammates for an open look. The bounce passes were usually thread the needle type - through traffic - and breath-taking. There will never be another Larry Bird--so watch this display and cherrish.
