Do3
Si bem2
La2
Fa2.

The twin belfries of the Basilica of St. Helen in Birkirkara contain 7 bells; 5 in the North belfry and 2 in the south. The two largest bells hang in the centre of each belfry and weigh 4 and 8 tons respectively the latter 'The Great Bell' hanging in the North belfry and previously the largest bell in Malta. It remains todate the largest Church bell in Malta superceded only by the Siege Bell in Valletta which is 4 tons heavier but does not hang in a church. Helena - the Bass bell was cast in 1931 in the Milanese bellfoundry of Prospero Barigozzi. It happens to be the largest bell that Barigozzi ever cast during their operation. The second largest was cast in 1810 and is the largest bell cast by Gioacchino Trigance. The bell was one of a four cast in an itinerant manner to avoid transportation problems. The remaining two bells were also cast by trigance in 1774 and 1776 respectively. Commencing with the smallest bell the musical scale is as follows: Si3, Fa3, Do dies3, Do3, Si bem2, La2 and Fa2.
