I think a lot of people under the age of around 50 don't know that before about 1972, there was very little Olympics on TV. Filmmakers would attend the Olympics and shoot films on the games, or athletes, and a few months later these films would play in theaters. Thus all the terrific archival footage out there like this.

The name of the Song is Anbessa which in ahmaric the ethiopian language means"The Lion".the song is dedicated to Abebe bikila and Kenenisa who's nickname is the Lion.

Thx to this remarkable athlete and to the vision of the film maker Kon Ichikawa, this moment of the Tokyo Olympic is in my opinion one of the greatest pictures of mankind.

Its Teddy Afro a famous Ethiopian singer and the name of the song is Anbesa which means Lion.The song is dedicated to Abebe Bikila and Kenenisa Bekele.
