  • Do you get any problems with the display? I installed Ubuntu on my 900 and apparently Linux makes the ACPI settings go all screwy, so a lot of Linux users have problems with black screens.

  • @MyNameIsBucket What version? I was running Ubuntu 9.10 - 10.04 on mine with no Issues. The Battery life went down because they can't get processor scaling done. I had a lot of OS's on this and Ubuntu was one of the best. I had OpenSolaris > Ubuntu > Android > MeeGo > Backtrack

  • @bobfrapples37 So if you have acquired new hardware which is not supported in Ubuntu 11.10 and/or Linux systems based on Ubuntu 11.10 it might be worth testing ExTiX 9. They added more Wifi in 11.10 or try ExTiX 9. I think your issue is in the xorg.conf however. ExTiX has gnome3 shell and razor-qt both rock on netbooks. There was eeeBuntu but it was really laggy downstream of ubuntu.

  • i'm not sure if this applies to the x86 version, but you can get more detailed error information on the phone by hooking the usb to a computer and running adb logcat.

  • @jimcrayne I don't see why not, if you establish a USB connection between the two and debugging is on. I didn't test that but the port was solid.

  • @jimcrayne Yes, it does apply, usb debugging VIA adb still works.

  • @bobfrapples37 Same versions. It had nothing to do with the battery life, as far as I know. First, the display would turn off while you were using it. Then it just wouldn't come on at all. Sometimes it will flicker on while I'm turning off the machine, so I know it's still running. The best lead I was able to find was that Linux didn't fully support ACPI on this machine, so the power settings would turn your display off, and SOMETIMES resetting the CMOS would fix the problem.

  • @neekneekboss I guess that depends on what you mean by "be" and "like". The ASUS eeePC 900b is\was offered with either Windows XP. Now if you are asking "can you boot either at start up?" the answer is yes. I don't know why you would want to put a decade old OS that's no longer even supported by Microsoft on a recent PC. I run windows in virtualBox on linux. If you watch my other videos you can see a few of the many OS's available. This one is suitable for a netbook.

  • Can You Remove That Soo It Can Be Like Window Xp Or Something

  • This is my most viewed video, so I guess people want android on a netbook.
