90 people are missing after a massive landslide hit southwest China's Yunnan province, killing at least two people. Heavy rains have triggered floods and landslides that battered China this summer.

A landslide destroyed a village, Puladi in Yunnan Province on Thursday, killing at least two people and leaving 90 of the 100 residents missing.

This is the latest of a succession of such disasters to have battered China this summer, as torrential downpours unleashed floods and dislodged hillsides onto towns and villages.

At least 10 mining trucks and 21 houses were buried.

Puladi lies in the Nu River valley, a mountainous corner near the Chinese border with Burma.

The area is sparsely settled. According to weather reports, more rain is likely to hit the area in the coming days.
