The conductors change from week-to-week, but the Beddingfield train keeps rolling. Friday night, Marcus Ruffin ran the engine with three rushing touchdowns to help the undefeated Bruins to their eighth straight win in a 40-21 victory against Southern Wayne in week 2 of 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference action. Ruffin canceled any worries of a nagging shoulder injury suffered against Fike two weeks ago. The senior running back played sparingly against Charles B. Aycock last Friday, but his three scores put him at 11 touchdowns for the year.
