Young Reporter for Andaman News TV11 (VHF dial) at 8.30am & local Cable TV channel 1 + maybe FM90.5 Radio Thailand 6pm, broadcast to Phang Nga, Krabi & Phuket provinces, & possibly FM108 Mazz Radio 7.30pm in Phuket, Friday 29 February 2008 & http://news.prd.go.th

I'm here at Surakul Stadium in Phuket City for the start of the FOBISSEA Under 15 Games 2008, hosted by our British International School, Phuket.

FOBISSEA stands for the Federation of British International Schools in South East Asia, so today we welcome young competitors for these Under 15 Games 2008 from Bangkok Patana School in Bangkok, Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur, British International School in Jakarta , British International School in Manila , Garden International School in Kuala Lumpur, Harrow International School in Bangkok, Tanglin Trust School in Singapore, and of course as hosts our own British International School in Phuket.
We are here at Surakul Stadium for the first part of the competition, the athletics including running races from 100metres to 1500 metres, plus Discus, Shot Putt, Javelin throwing and High Jumps, Long Jumps, Triple Jumps, quite appropriate for leap year! We talked to some of the participants here:

Later on today & until Saturday we have competitions in Swimming, Basketball, and Football at our campus in Kor Kaew of Phuket. We also have a social cultural evening and final presentation at Royal Phuket City hotel. It should be good fun to join all the other teams, as well as quite tough to win any of the contests, but the results don't matter so much as long as everyone does their best and enjoys the event. The "friendly games" are a truly enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We know that new friendships will be forged over the next few days which will last for many years to come.

This is Mathilde, today's young reporter for Andaman News, reporting from Surakul stadium. Back to the studio.
