Completely agree with you guys. BC's liquor laws are ridiculously archaic in so many ways.

The Lido theatre in Fort st John BC runs a very similar thing (films, comedians, bands, weddings, etc) and serves alcohol at many of the events. I am not 100% sure about during films but I know they serve alcohol and would probably not be able to open the doors without it. Sounds like a case of someone with a stick up their ass.
