@5axon If you play hard rock, it sounds really awesome for that. I own a 5-string version of this bass and it sounds pretty cool. also I play hard rock and heavy metal and this bass is excellent for those genres. if you like passive bass guitars with jazz-styled pick-ups, you'll find this bass to be a real delight.

I have 2 of these in clear black. I went to Guitar Center to check one out and they had both of them marked half off. I got both for $230.00 out the door. nice basses, I was looking for something that I could use for gigs, but not be devastated if they got knocked over by drunks. They have served me well so far.

Bought a Millenium BXP bass, earlier this year. I just love it.
How would this be for rock?

@5axon This is my 2nd fav bass after my fretless. I play it & just finished recording with the band 10,000 Hours.... groove-rock. It is great for funky, chunky growl kinda stuff or goes to the the jazz bass zone. I know better PUs will make a diff but the KSM bridge I put on actually made this sound like a 'serious' bass.

have you played the 5 string version?

@PRSDM15 Tried it later, ready to buy. Didn't like it! Played many of these but found the sound quality inconsistent. `some sound funky others just sound like a plank. Some looked sexy - others.. i wouldn't spank em..

cheers for that mate. a friend of mine told me not to buy because he said the passive pickups were complete and utter garbage and when active ones cost about £80 i think its best f i can find a better one. Have you tried the ESP LTD B-55. That seems to be a much better option or even the squier j bass?

I was looking for the ESP B55 when i found the Peavey. It looked great but was not as well made as the Peavey. The B55's agathis was lighter than the Peavey's basswood = neck-heavy. They are very close but the ESP was a let-down actually.
