Part 3. In this lesson I cover the best way to learn and use them - by staying in the same position and being able to use all the chords! Plus I set you the challenge of figuring out how to play the minor versions!

Taught by Justin Sandercoe.

Full support at the justinguitar web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem.

And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships, no free ebook. Just tons of great lessons :)

To get help with this lesson (and for further info and tabs), find the Lesson ID in the video title (like ST-667 or whatever) and then look it up on the Lesson Index page of justinguitar.com

Have fun :)

  • thank you

  • more helpful than tons of books around

  • I absolutely love these triad lessons man, jus subscribed and will definitely be using your site from now on, cheers!

  • This is seriously fantastic. Really easy to learn.

  • I'm a beginner, but I understood pretty early on that I didn't have a need to tune in standard. I usually play through distortion, and dyads and simple triads sound best througn distortion. I have no use for chords bigger than that. LOL. I've tuned my guitar to perfect 4ths (DGCFA#D#, which I call Owsla), to make chords and scales completely consistent.

Anyway, for all my experimenting, I hadn't considered how easy it is to play entire progressions ACROSS the strings. Thanks. :D

  • thanks mate, i should have watched this vid before asking about minor, sus etc (asked when watching no. 2). thanks again. heard a story on the ABC the other day about a cure for the Tassie Devil fascial tumor maybe 2 years away...cheers mate

  • Thanks for the video, i'm kind of understanding it, just a little bit confused but i'll understand it abit better in a few days.

Anyway, does this help for soloing ?

and when you're making a solo up, are you only supposed to use the notes that are in the chord thats being played ? like if a G chord was getting played then should it only be G B and D notes that the lead guitar plays until it changes chord, then the notes changes to whatever notes are in the next chord ?

    Please Reply !

    Thanks !

  • Thanks Justin well done !!!!!!

  • would it be safe to say im rushing if im not only trying to understand what your saying, but also trying to get to grips with what a 3rd and 5th is at the same time?

  • Very useful set of lessons. (: I enjoy my newfound knowledge
