Playbacks sections rythmiques et piano enregistrés du 21 au 23 avril 1970 au Studio Phillips de Marble Arch à Londres.
Playback grand orchestre et chœurs enregistrés les 4, 5, 8 et 11 mai 1970 au Studio des Dames à Paris.
Voix enregistrées le 14 janvier 1971 au Studio des Dames.
Mixages : 1, 2 et 4 février 1971.

    Le pire, c'est que bien que la pochette crédite des musiciens de studio anglais, personne n'était sûr de qui a joué... 40 ans plus tard, ils ont fait réécouter à certains musiciens pour ^savoir si c'était réellement eux qui jouaient de la guitare, de la basse ou de la batterie!

    Cette chanson est si courte.... Trop courte. C'est frustrant. Mais à part ça, quel chef d'oeuvre! Cette chanson fait partie de ma vie, c'est sûrement celle que j'ai le plus écouté. Une des plus belles de Gainsbourg, la meilleure peut-être.
