In this video series, I hope to explain everything that you need to know about building a hackintosh. Throughout this series, I take you from the beginning stages of planning and researching, all the way to having Mac OS X fully running on your PC!

In part 6 of my Hackintosh series, I answer the question "What about Windows?". I take you on a quick tour of the Parallels Desktop virtual machine, as well as a full tutorial on how to dual boot with Windows 7!

Here's the accompanying blog post on TekSocial: http://bit.ly/xi36VB

  • If i upgrade my ram, will it just recognize it or will i have to do something softwareor kext wise?

    thanks in advance

  • @jkmart456 Memory will be instantly recognized.

  • Hey cpukid00, would you help me understand how Screenflow exports?

Your screen captured videos are pretty good quality, so I ask... My videos look pretty good when i play them on my computer, but when i upload them onto YouTube, it gets really dull and blurry when played at 360p. Your videos are pretty sharp and clear even at that resolution.

I let Screenflow capture my screen at Smooth & Adaptive, and then export to Full-Res Best quality H.264 (multi-pass) - No Frame Reordering.

    Can you guide?

  • @mrlennybruce I've messaged you with my settings.

  • Man, I really want a Mountain Dew

  • @tcbetka Got it working, finally. I simply had to boot in single-user mode, then "exit" at the root prompt. Then the OS booted, and I could finally run MultiBeast. I've only run the very basic options though, as I'll need to review MB much more before applying all the tweaks.

  • Hey cpukid00--did you ever get a Lion kernel panic to this effect: Refusing new kext com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily, vX.X.X: already have loaded vY.Y.Y? I am having an issue with that here, and haven't found any definite solution on the TonyMacX86 site. You can see my full configuration in my sig file there, in the Lion Support form. Thanks!

  • @cpukid00 I did install Radeon plugins and it said something about unsupport device

  • your great! i think i gonna build a hackintosh, but without windows7 ;D

  • @iTechVn1018 This could depend on your hardware, but did you install the FakeSMC plugins as well? They have motherboard plugins, AMD Radeon plugins, and NVidia plugins.

  • @cpukid00 I more question, I did install FakeSMC.kext but iStat doesn't show my CPU and GPU temp, any suggestion ? Thanks
