@guyacrossthestreet11 No. She's just missing feathers and was previously clipped. Clipping parrots is cruel and leads to problems like this. So as long as the parrot is never clipped in its life, these problems shouldn't exist.

fucking A man , you did this good.. Im getting a hahns macaw within 4 months i would REALLY love to if you show / explain / tip me how to train my new parrot to do things like this etc.. And i would actually prefer without the click-for-treat tbh but if you cant without that'll do!
regards from sweden ;D

@Nallen026 I'm getting my new Cape Parrot within a week now. I'll be posting all my training progress on my trainedparrot blog. There is a link to it from my channel. If you're subscribed to me, I'll send a message when I get the parrot that the blog has begun.

your video is awesome, as a clicker trainer i am wondering why you use a click and do not treat ? It seems to me that doing so would degrade the meaning of the clicker.

Normally that would be the case, however, I have done so much clicker training with my parrot that it has become a secondary reinforcer rather than simply a bridge to primary reinforcement. In fact, since I use a variable ratio of reinforcement schedule, I always use a clicker to mark the event of a well completed trick whether or not I give the actual treat.
