We are on the Conrail River Line Subdivision, where we see a few trains in a few different locations. First up is CSX Train Q439, a southbound manifest mixed freight from Selkirk to Hamlet, as it makes a bit of noise as it comes through Nyack. Q439 consists of GEVO ES40DC 5245 and C40-8 7492 with a 116 car mixed freight. We then move south to Automatic 17 in Norwood, where we see CSX Train Q703, a trash freight from Oak Point Yard in the Bronx to Acca Yard in Virginia, as it snakes its way over the washboard and blows for Broadway. Q703 consists of GEVO ES40DC 5345 and C40-9W 9030 with 62 trash cars. Finally, we move up to Blauvelt, where we see CSX Train Q156, a southbound intermodal freight, as it blows for Glenshaw Street and chugs under us at Mountain View Avenue. Q156 consists of C40-8 7527 and 2 GE widecabs with a modest intermodal freight. Enjoy the sound if the K5H of the 7527. If you have any questions about the videos, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The videos were taken on August 23rd, 2011.

  • Great job, except for the annoying squelch noise from your scanner in the early part of the video.
