  • Tough rock - how did the Extec gear go with it?

  • The Extec gear is handling it with no problems. We have just finished a previous contract for aggregates and roadbase for 270000 tonne with no major issues. We were achieving 3-5 times more per day than all previous contractors for that client. That's the result of the right gear and the right operators. The jaw reverse is really useful when the feed has a high level of clay fines. All the previous contractors had used impactors, we were the first to use cones and achieved better shape using VSI

  • A tidy set up, If you don't mind me asking, where abouts was this?

  • On the Gold Coast, near Brisbane, Australia for FH Group. We are making 2.3 Roadbase ( 20mm ) and because the rock feed is so raw, it needs the VSI to make enough fines. We've only recently switched over from making aggregates while their static plant was being upgraded with a Metso GP500, GP300 and HP 300 cones. We are averaging 170-230 tonnes per hour and its hard going in this rock, with MPa of about 240MPa.

  • its really amazing , is it possible to crusher below 4mm if yes it is really worth

  • Impactors! They certainly didn't make things easy for themselves. Ideal on limestone, but rarely for anything else. Having the right operators is definitly a key to success.

  • Faaarrrkk!!! That's unreal, thanks for the info and good to hear you got plenty on...=D
