  • Sweet video. I just bought a 2000 Blaster and first big problem was the clutch...couldn't test drive it, but it fires right up after 2nd or 3rd kick. Anyhow, watched your video to learn about clutches and then went out and checked it out. Haven't checked the adjustment yet, but the outside friction plate was outside the clutch basket and stuck between that and the pressure plate when I removed the cover, thinking it will need new plates now. Anything else I might want to check for? Thanks.

  • @FallenOutlander Clutch-wise just make sure you use a new lock washer and check for grooves in the clutch basket. Might wanna think about new springs too if the pull is too light.

  • Great videos man. I appreciate all of the useful info! Liked/Subscribed!

  • @54pen455 So glad to read comments like this. I appreciate it :)

  • Ya that was the first thing i did. Its twice as smooth now. The thing is when i tried the clutch with the cover off it was coming all the way out to where the outer clutch plate was flush with the edge off the basket but the first 6 plates where stuck together and the only seperation was between the 6 and 7 plate. Next year ill just replace everything clutch related. Thanks for the help!

  • @Fast4Wheelin Awesome, glad you figured it out.

  • @Fast4Wheelin Glad everything went well. Definitely sounds like you need a clutch cable. Avoid the MSR cable, I've heard they aren't the same length. Make sure you compare the new cable to the old cable before you install it so see if they are the same size. Also have you lubed the cable? That helps out a ton too!

  • Eveything went good... of couse i spent $45 dollars on a new gasket, when the one in it was a nice ruber one. The clutch still isnt perfect but its about 50% bettter so im happy. Turns out i had to futher put the clutch out past the line to get the clutch to come out further. I probably just need a new cable especially if its the stock one from 1989 haha. Its only bad on first take off, after it warms up its good. Plus it is still bellow zero in Ontario so it take a while to warm up.

  • @Fast4Wheelin Let me know how it goes! Np.

  • Well i did notice after i watched your video that where the arrow on the top of the clutch arm is past the line by a good bit. Thanks for the help
