Finished building this beast a few days ago, thought I'd upload a performance/review of it.

Specs -
GPU - EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 768 MB VRAM
CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 3.2 GHz Tri-Core
RAM - 4 GB (2 GB x 2) Patriot Sector 5 DDR3
PSU - XION PowerReal 800W
Motherboard - MSI 870-G45
Case - Master Cooler Centurian 5 Blue
Hard Drive - 250 GB 5400 RPM Toshiba
(Soon to be 1 TB 7200 RPM Western Digital Caviar Green)
Operating System - Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit
(Soon to be Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit)

I'm using the Hard Drive from my laptop for the time being, since I don't have an OS to put on my new one. Should be getting getting an OS for Christmas, though!

  • Nice setup, have you attempted to unlock the 4th core on your cpu?? Is that option available on your Mobo bios?

  • @romefox Yeah, I did that a few weeks ago, actually. Plus, I upgraded my graphics to CrossFired 6770 cards this last weekend, too, so I'd say it's definitely time for another video.

  • well your pc isnt actually a beast xD

  • @SeucheCAsh Yeah, I know... However, compared to the shitty laptop I'd been using before I finished this thing, it is. Trust me, I'm not stupid - I know that there's plenty of rigs out there that can top this thing easily.

  • is the mother board any good? Im thinking of buying it but I saw some really good reviews on it aswell as some low reviews

  • @QQTheStealth Yeah, it's great! I've had it for nearly 6 months now and I've had no problems, and everything runs really coolly. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, especially someone looking to out some ATI cards in CrossFire. Of course, I'm running a GTX 460, so Nvidia cards works fine, but you can't SLI them.

  • @zealot027 @zealot027 Nice, your pulling some good numbers though (FPS) not too shabby, i got 4850x2 but the 6770 blows it away, I know its a bit outdated but two cards and still not enough to perform as wel!!

  • no top comment anyone got more of a beast than me:

    Phenom 2 x6

    8GB ram

    500GB HDD

    Nvdia GT 440

    Blu-Ray

true i builded mine 2 weeks ago its an freakin hexa core pc with an overclocked gtx260 extreme + oc for only 230 bugs....you just have to know where to buy^^

  • @Aquahorseify Yes, it only cost $80. You could get the new 455 for $10 more, but the only improvements it offers is a minute clock speed boost, from 3.2 GHz in the 450 to 3.3GHz. There's really no point to it.
